What we do

As a well funded and ambitious organisation we are looking to have a big impact in the district. Over the next five years we will be investing around £80 million pounds in improving and maintaining our homes and estates and providing a better quality of life for our tenants.

The Association is the main provider of affordable rented homes in the Chester-le-Street district. What we do includes:

• Keeping a register of people wanting affordable rented housing within the district and letting homes as they become available to those in need;
• Managing our 4,300 homes, collecting rents and making sure all necessary repairs are done;
• Working closely with our tenants and other agencies to make sure we tackle anti social behaviour which can blight our neighbourhoods and estates;
• Improving and modernising our homes and estates;
• Offering a community alarm service (Cestria Care) to the elderly, disabled and vulnerable within the district;
• Working with the Council and other agencies to regenerate areas in need.
