About Cestria Community Housing
Cestria Community Housing Association Ltd (Cestria Community Housing) is a not-for-profit independent Registered Social Landlord which Chester-le-Street District Council helped to set up.
We took over all the ownership and management of all the Council homes in early 2008 after tenants voted resoundingly for change.
We are registered with the Housing Corporation, the legal body responsible for the supervision and regulation of registered social landlords.
We are the main providers of affordable rented housing within the Chester-le-Street district. We work closely with the Council and other partners to meet housing and regeneration needs across the district.
The Association owns around 4,300 homes. Many of these are specially build for our elderly tenants. We keep a Housing Register on behalf of the Council and any person wanting affordable rented housing within the district can apply to go on the Register.
Cestria holds first Annual General Meeting
Cestria Community Housing held it's first AGM on Monday 29 September 2008 when it presented the first annual report and financial statement documents.
The annual report provides an overview of our performance in respect of our promises to tenants and the financial statement is for the year ended 31 March 2008.
