I have worked for Chester le Street District Council/Cestria Community Housing for 22  years and this is a list of jobs I have done:-

  • I started in the ‘Community Charge’ section doing data input;
  • I then moved from there to be a cashier;
  • I moved from the cashiers department to work as a receptionist/admin in ‘Council Tax’;
  • In 1996 I was re-deployed into the housing department where my first job was a generic housing assistant dealing with all aspects of housing. 

I went to university at the ripe old age of 40 and obtained my housing qualification. Shortly after passing my exams I applied for the position of a development officer. After a few years as a development officer I applied for the position of Systems Administrator and was successful. My next move was to the position I am in now as the Support Services Manager.

My other interests are eating in restaurants and trying different types of food. I also love shopping at the Metro Centre.
