Esther's Safe and Sound

Esther fell at home during the night and lay for several hours before she was found, unfortunately this resulted in time spent in respite care recovering. Esther was desperate to return home, so following a telephone call from Social Care Direct, Cestria Care installed a Lifeline alarm unit then shortly afterwards a bed sensor and fall detector.
The bed sensor which is placed under the mattress is programmed to send a call to Cestria Care control if Esther leaves her bed during the night and doesn’t return after an agreed interval.
The fall detector is worn around Esther’s waist. It is designed to activate should she have another fall and is unable to get herself up. This too is programmed into her Cestria Care alarm equipment.
By utilizing Esthers BT telephone line Cestria Care have provided both Esther and her family with the reassurance that help is just a press of a button away.
