Joiner (2 posts for fixed term contracts of 12 months)
You will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to, routine repairs and maintenance, decent homes work to both occupied and empty homes and will also work on our adaptation and modernisation programmes. You will have a good level of multi-skilling, an awareness of current health and safety legislation and you will demonstrate excellent customer care skills.
Job Purpose
To be responsible for the provision of the diverse range of domestic and commercial Joinery and associated works provided by the Building Services Team.
Accountabilities
- To be responsible for routine repairs and maintenance or new installation to both occupied and empty homes and will also work on our adaptation and modernisation programmes.
- To ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations, standards and codes of practice.
- To liaise as necessary with other sections/trades to ensure implementation and completion of repairs and maintenance works.
- To be responsible for undertaking any joinery work as appropriate to the post holders trade as allocated by the Maintenance Manager or designated Manager
- To observe appropriate health and safety legislation, ensuring safety standards and risk assessments are adhered to at all times.
- To participate in an out of hours standby rota.
- To participate in Saturday and late evening appointments if required.
- To complete all necessary documentation, both electronic and or hard copy as directed.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience
Essential
- BTEC First Diploma In Construction (carpentry options) or City & Guilds Basic Construction Skills award: Carpentry and Joinery (6217) of a Foundation/Intermediate/Advanced Construction Award (Wood Occupations)
- Experience in a similar role. Dealing with customers and Clients.
- Aware of current health and safety legislation and working procedures.
- Risk assessment criteria.
- Commitment to quality service delivery and customer care.
- Work as part of a team and under own imitative
- Ability to carry out instructions in a safe and competent manner.
- To assist in other area’s of operations as and when required.
- Committed to continuous personal learning and development.
- Full current driving licence or access to a means of mobility support.
Desirable
- CSCS accreditation
- Current first aid certificate
- Multi-skilling experience
