Adaptations

The aim of the Adaptations Service is to ensure that the needs of Cestria Community Housing tenants are fully assessed to enable necessary adaptations and aids to be provided.  These will modify disabling environments to restore, or enable, independent living, privacy, confidence and dignity for individuals and their families.

Cestria Community Housing will work closely with Durham County Council Social Care and Health (Social Services) to achieve this aim.

If a tenant thinks they would benefit from an adaptation to assist them to continue living in their home, they should contact Social Care Direct on 0845 850 5010. An occupational therapist will arrange to visit and assess the tenant’s needs and advise them of the next steps to getting adaptations carried out to their home.

Alternatively a tenant can contact Cestria’s own in-house Occupational Therapist via 0800 587 0001 who will carry out a similar assessment, but it should be noted that in certain circumstances we may need to refer tenants back to Social Services.

It should be noted that the Occupational Therapist recommendation will be based on tenants needs not their wishes or desires.
