Auckland Communal Room

Auckland Communal room is situated in a cul-de-sac of Auckland Chester-le-Street. Blink and you might miss it, it is so tucked away.....yet it is a real gem of a community building. It has a larger than average kitchen that is ideal for cookery courses. In March 2011, twenty, tenants and residents attended a level 2 food and hygiene course at Auckland and there was plenty of room for everyone.

Lady Elsie Robson opened Auckland with Paul Tinnion in December 2010 and the day was a great success. The communal room now has lots of storage space for the groups that attend regularly. This communal room is a favourite for disabled residents because it is larger than our other communal rooms, although all of our refurbished communal rooms are DDA compliant.

The BINGO club that has been running for over 30 years are delighted with their new facilities. However, there is room on the timetable for more activities.

Facilities:

  • Main Room: capacity 45
  • Larger than average fully fitted kitchen with fridge freezer, microwave, cooker
  • Male, female and disabled access WC’s
  • Meeting room: capacity 10
  • Patio area for outdoor activities during our long hot summers!!
