Gas & Fire Safety (Leasehold)

Gas Safety

Gas Safe RegisterAs a leaseholder you have a responsibility for your own safety to ensure that your gas appliances are safe and are inspected on an annual basis by a Gas safe registered engineer.

You are putting yourself and family members in danger if you do not have your gas appliances regularly checked. Some of the following gas safety risks are as follows:-

  • Gas leaks
  • Fires
  • Explosions
  • Carbon Monoxide poisoning

Gas Safe Register replaced Corgi as the organisation responsible for gas safety in Great Britain in 2009. To find a Gas Safe registered engineer visit the Gas Safe website or call 0800 408 5500.

Gas safety checks to your flat would previously have been carried out by Cestria Community Housing's in-house Gas Servicing Team and you still have the option for Cestria Community Housing to continue to carry out your Annual Gas Safety Inspection.

The service is chargeable, and any parts required will be charged at an additional cost which will be agreed before any work is undertaken.

If you would like more information or you would like a quote for our in-house Gas Safety team to carry out this work please contact our Gas Servicing Manager on 0191 385 1900.
