Repairs & Planned Works

As a landlord and freeholder of your building, Cestria Community Housing will undertake repairs to everything connected with; the structure, the exterior and interior common parts, communal fixtures and fittings and service installations. Some examples of which are as follows:

Main structural parts of the buildings including the roof, foundations and walls (but not wall plaster inside your home).

  • Drains and water supply pipes
  • Guttering downpipes
  • Rainwater goods and soil pipes
  • Exterior to dwelling
  • Paths, fences, gates and garden areas
  • Communal TV aerials and satellite dishes
  • Fire precautions, alarms and extinguishers
  • Joists and beams
  • Loft spaces and the fittings which serve more than one home
  • Tanks, cisterns, drains, pipes, gutters, sewers, ducts, plumbing and wiring which serve more than one home
  • External doors and external door frames
  • Communal hallways, corridors, stairways, lifts and other shared internal spaces

As a leaseholder, you will be responsible for repairs to items within your home, which are for your use and benefit only. Some examples of which are as follows:

  • Walls, ceilings and floor including plaster and plasterboards
  • Light fittings, sockets, bulbs and fuses
  • Electric showers
  • Smoke alarms
  • Kitchen fixtures and fittings
  • Gas fires and cookers
  • Internal doors, frames, architraves and skirting boards

If a repair is required for which Cestria Community Housing is responsible, please use our FREEPHONE number, 0800 587 0001, we will carry out such repairs in accordance within the following timescale:

  • Emergency: To be made safe the same day
  • Urgent: To be carried out within 24 hours
  • Normal: To be carried out within 28 days
  • Planned: To be carried out as part of an agreed programme
