How we Recruit
All permanent vacancies are advertised both internally and externally. All Cestria vacancies follow a policy based recruitment process. You will be required to complete an application form for all vacancies- CVs cannot be accepted.
If your application is shortlisted you will be invited to attend a panel interview. Higher level vacancies may also require shortlisted candidates to attend an assessment centre. All appointments will be made on the basis of merit of the application form.
In order to help candidates feel more relaxed we suggest that applicants arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled interview time.
Under Cestria’s commitment ‘positive about disabled people’ (as defined by the disability discrimination Act, 1995) if you consider yourself as having a disability and meet the essential criteria you will automatically be offered an interview. The essential criteria relates to the key skills and experience as outlined in the person specification. If applying for the post under this scheme you will be required to declare this on your job application and give details of any special requirements you may need at the interview or assessment should you be invited.
All new employees will be employed on a six month probationary period.
Job Share Opportunities
The Association recognises in order to ensure that a wide range of applicants apply for employment, most full time vacancies should be open to job sharers. This method of working involves two part time employees who voluntarily share the responsibilities of one full time post, dividing the pay, holidays and other benefits between them, according to the number of hours worked.
Feedback on Applications
Unsuccessful candidates are able to requested feedback on their application and/or interview once the recruitment process is complete. This service is available for up to 3 weeks after the interview date.
Reserve List
Cestria holds all application forms for 6 months. Should you be unsuccessful in the post that you originally applied for, you may be contacted in the next 6 months if a similar vacancy or post becomes available.
This information is available to other Managers/Departments recruiting for the same vacancy, who can then contact candidates that may be suitable for them without pursuing the formal interview process. Your details will remain with Cestria for 6 months. This will not limit you from applying to other vacancies at Cestria Community Housing.
