Help with your first tenancy

We know that managing a new home can be difficult, especially if it is your first tenancy.

Tenancy Sustainment

The Tenancy Sustainment Service will provide an intensive housing management service by way of additional advice, guidance and practical help on how to successfully manage a new home.

What type of service do we provide?

As part of helping you with your first tenancy we will:

  • Help you understand your tenancy agreement and how to keep to it
  • Help you manage your money and your rent payments
  • Advise you on getting your gas, electric and water supply connected, and how to pay
  • Help you set up a bank account and home contents insurance
  • Advise you on how to look after your property
  • Help you settle into your neighbourhood
  • Assess whether you need extra support and put you in touch with other support agencies, if you need them
  • Provide a welfare-benefit advice service and help you claim any benefits you may be entitled to.

We can direct you to many other support services, if needed and can also arrange to visit you at home if you can't get to one of our offices.

If you would like more information on this service click on the Tenancy Sustainment document on the right hand side of this page.
