Cestria Community Housing moved its head office to the Bowes Offices in spacious Lambton Park in April 2008 after transferring from Chester-le-Street District Council. The offices are located across 2 main sites:

• Bowes Offices, Lambton Park
• Cestria Hub, Chester-le-Street Front Street

Bowes Offices

The Bowes Offices in Lambton Park are spacious and well set out. Each department works in its own ‘house’ and has a security fob entrance. The offices are modern with lots of space and natural light. Office furniture is modern with all staff having their own desk, with access to telephones and computers using Microsoft Technology.

Cestria has a Board room that comfortably seats 20, a dining room which facilitates monthly staff conferences and can seat around 50 people. In the main reception there are three smaller meeting rooms, one with a panic button as a safety precaution. There are 5 communal rooms in operation across the districts which are used regularly for training events, large meetings and community meetings.

Each house has kitchen facilities with a fridge, kettle, toaster and some hold microwaves which is available throughout the day. The dining room has holds the same facilities, and a large TV for staff to watch on their lunch break.

A sandwich van comes to the offices daily and there are takeaways and sandwich shops within a 5 minute drive away, with other amenities including a post office, Co-op local and a Petrol Station opposite the entrance into Lambton Park.

A no smoking Policy is in operation, and staff have the advantage of free car parking outside the offices. There are parking areas for bikes as well as showers on site for staff to use at any time.

We are approximately a 10 minute drive into Chester-le-Street and Washington, and are located on a local bus route lining Durham, Chester-le-Street and Sunderland.

Cestria Hub

The Cestria Hub is situated on Front Street in Chester-le-Street. The shop is modern and has secure access to the back office with a security fob. The offices are modern with a lot of natural light. The office furniture is modern with all staff having their own desk, with access to telephones and computers using Microsoft Technology.

At the Cestria Hub, there are 3 private meeting rooms, all with security features and a large front reception with computers for customers to use during opening hours.

There are kitchen facilities available and a break area for staff to eat their lunch away from their desks. As the Cestria Hub is located on the high street, there is easy access to a range of sandwich shops and other amenities including a post office, chemists and takeaways.

There is easy access to Durham and the A1 and can get to Newcastle or Sunderland within about 20 minutes from the Shop.
